Winter Regionals 2018

Welcome to Winter Regionals 2018!

Teens from around the diocese are invited to gather together to celebrate, pray, build community, grow in faith, and discern potential youth leadership for the diocese. The event is free, though registration is required through your Youth Ministry Coordinator or designated parish leader, no later than noon on March 19th. All youth must be accompanied by an adult (one adult per 7 youth).

2. What is the cost?

The event is free, though registration helps us to know just how many to accomodate for the day.

3. Is this preparation for Convention 2018?

Yes! The Winter Regionals allow us to delve into the theme of Convention, spiritually and catechetically, without its reveal.

4. What is CYLT Nominations?

Beginning in 2016, youth and adults who gathered at the Winter Regionals were asked to discern youth who demonstrated Christian leadership skills already within their parishes, and who they thought would serve the diocese well through the Catholic Leadership Team (CYLT) in the coming school year. Those identified for nominiation need not be present, though it is strongly encouraged.

5. Why is there only 1 site this year?

The Youth Ministry leaders in the County decided not to host a gathering in northern Maine. Current limitations of OLFF staff made it difficult to organize to two simultaneous sites on the 24th. Plans are already in the works for Winter Regionals to return to 3 sites again in 2019.
